How Can severe Irritable Bowel Syndrome Be Treated?

I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago. However lately the symptoms have been getting worse. I am very careful about what I eat. I am 5 2 and roughly 126pds. Today I have had cramping, had nausea and my poo smells of plastocine. It is also the consistency of toothpaste. Is this typical of IBS or should I be looking at other possibilities?

Hi,

Yes, it is an indication of IBS. I suggest you modify diet and avoid foods which cause it. Use milk and curd in liquid form mixed together in food. Avoid coffee, carbonated drinks for time being. Maintain good hygiene and eat light meals. It will help lot. Take plenty of liquids and avoid smoking and stress, anxiety just relax. Have good sleep of 8 hours and don't work for late hours. Follow this schedule for one week if there is no improvement then report to emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
